A Perfect Score

Sometimes in life we take things for granted…..like the sun rising in the morning.  Other times we make a conscious decision to do things right to keep a goal.  Have you ever thought about the forgiveness we are freely given?  Can we take it for granted???

Take a listen and let me know…..

Breaking Free

Yesterday, I witnessed a miracle.

Birth is beautiful.  No matter the species.

A simple egg.  Perfectly shaped.  Inside a chick develops.  Time ticks and mother nature says to break free.  The uncomfortable confinement, the yearning to be released, and perseverance causes the chick to peck.  Tiny cracks.  A tiny pecked out hole entices the young chick to work harder.

Crack.

Peck.

Push.

Crack.

Peck.

Push.

Freedom.

A miracle.

Birth. New life.

My sinful nature is my confining, restrictive, shell.  I want to break free from it.  I call out for my Christ, my Savior.  Seeing Him, feeling Him near gives me the strength to break free.  To peck.  To crack this sin that holds me.  The more I cry out…. the more I want freedom.  Harder I work towards breaking free.

"But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin,
so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ."
Galatians 3:22 (NLT)
Break free my friends..... Be a miracle...... God bless......

Made New

Granny kept everything.  There is no bones about it.  She was a classic pack rat.  Not a hoarder, mind you.  But a pack rat.

Ahem…. I have those tendencies.

Anyway, last week I cleaned out some more of Granny’s things.  I found some old tattered patterns.  Mice must like to read patterns because there were nibbles all over this old stuff.

Patterns from the 40’s and 50’s….. old stuff!!

Granny treasured her sewing stuff.  She loved it.  Sewing was like breathing to her.  I couldn’t throw it away.  So, I made something new from the tattered old.

I made up some homemade “Mod Podge”.  50% Elmer’s glue and 50% water.  And got to work.  Took some of the eaten patterns….

Went nuts with the homemade Mod Podge on a canvas.

Ta Da…… something made new…..

I am thinking about going through Granny’s buttons to embellish this nice piece of art.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:  The old has gone, the new is here!  2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

Like the tattered pattern, I have felt worn, torn, and worthless.  It wasn’t until Christ became the center of my life that I became new creation.  Praise God…. I’ve been made new!

Enjoy this cool fall day!  God bless…..

Homecoming

Blessed.

I’m blessed.  There is no way around it.

Last week, I hate to admit that I was tempted to run and hide.  I wanted to crawl under the covers and stay there with my head under my pillow.  I felt beaten down with one sentence.

I choose to cast my cares on you, Lord, and you will sustain me.  Psalm 55:22

I know man’s rejection only is God’s protection.

Blessed.

I’m just so blessed.

Just look at my beautiful daughter.

This was supposed to be a homecoming event with a boy.  It didn’t happen.  So many tearful outcomes could have played out.  Heartbroken tears.  Angry tears.

I choose to cast my cares on you, Lord, and you will sustain me.  Psalm 55:22

Instead, great friends replaced the emptiness of what should have been.

Thank you, Lord, for the beautiful young woman my baby girl has become.  You have given her the strength and the nobility of Queen Esther…… The loyalty and love of Ruth……  The trustworthiness of  Mary…..  Continue to bless her Lord!

And I didn’t cry…. in front of her, anyways!

May God bless your Monday.

The Good Shepherd

Jesus is our Good Shepherd.  It is His voice we follow.  He cares and tends for us.  And He lovingly died for us……

Won’t you enjoy this little video blog…..  Come back in two weeks for another one!
